In the TSW there are There are 44 locks, or to be technical 43 locks and the marine railway. We transited only 43 of the 44 as one of them is not on the “loop” route. The first 34 locks took us from an elevation of 244’ at Trenton up to an elevation of 840’ at Balsam Lake, which is the highest elevation of the trip. The remaining 9 locks dropped us back down to an Elev of 577’ at Georgian Bay, Lake Huron.
